Summer Newsletter 2022

“Behold, I make all things new” (Rev 21:5).

Dear Friends,

All around the monastery, new life is blossoming. This year, our apricot trees produced

an abundant harvest. The prayer garden is adorned with beautiful flowers.

Recently, some improvement projects were finished. Because of your generosity, we

were able to purchase and install a new generator to keep the entire monastery running

in the event of a power outage. We also completed some new paving projects, and

hope to do more improvements in the coming year.

Within the community, there are new vocations. Brother Charbel Mary recently began

the period of formation called the Novitiate and Paul Punnoose began the stage of

postulancy. We thank you for your prayers and support of our men in initial formation.

All our Carmelite Friars at Mount St. Joseph are doing well and continue their work of

sharing the Gospel in various ways. We all feel blessed and grateful to be able to share

our life and ministry with you throughout the years.

When we held our Annual Fundraiser here on the monastery grounds last year, I asked a question to all in attendance, “Do you like having our annual fundraiser at this

location?” The answer from those in attendance was a resounding “Yes!” All the friars

here felt the same.

So, I am happy to announce that this year’s annual fundraiser will take place after the 9:30 AM Mass here at Mount St. Joseph Carmelite Monastery. The theme of our fundraiser will be “St. Joseph: Leading Us Into New Life.” Together, we journey forward into a bright future!

On behalf of all the friars at Mount St. Joseph Carmelite Monastery, I thank you for your

friendship and support over the years. Please be assured of our continued prayers for

you and your loved ones. May Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Saint Joseph watch over

you always.

Gratefully in Jesus and Mary,

Fr. Thomas Reeves, O.C.D, Prior

Mount St. Joseph Carmelite Monastery
